How is Citrus × limon oil used in scented candles and home fragrance?
The oil is used as a soft fresh top note in candles, wax melts, reed diffusers, room sprays and surface cleaners.
Handling
- Typical fragrance load in wax: 3-10% depending on the wax system and the target throw.
- Add below 70 °C to limit evaporation loss.
- Citrus top notes flash off early; anchor with a base note for a longer burn profile.
- Test cold and hot throw on the actual wax before scaling.
The flash point and transport class are stated on the lot-specific SDS, which candle makers need for their own compliance file.
