Is cinnamon bark oil supply seasonal? How do you manage year-round availability?
Cinnamon bark oil production is seasonal because fresh bark is harvested and distilled mainly in the autumn-to-spring window (roughly September-March). However, we manage stock year-round so buyers can order at any time.
Seasonality & Supply Management
| Aspect | Detail |
|---|---|
| Harvest & distillation season | Sep-Mar (Guangxi/Guangdong), peaking Nov-Feb |
| Off-season | Apr-Aug: limited new production, stock-based supply |
| Stock management | Buffer stock built up during the season |
| New-season preference | New-season oil is usually richer and preferred for food & premium fragrance |
| Price seasonality | Q4 demand peak; off-season stable |
- Fresh bark quality varies with the year's weather; we grade and blend batches to hold a consistent spec all year
- For food customers we recommend planning annual requirements and taking delivery before the off-season, or using our 3-6 month price-lock contract
- Old-season stock kept in sealed, cool, dark storage remains within spec for its full shelf life; GC-MS re-verification is available before dispatch
- If you need the freshest possible oil, plan your order for the Nov-Mar window and we will allocate new-season production to you
