How is the wild rose absolute used in cosmetics and personal care?
In cosmetics it is used at 0.01–1% as a luxury rose note and natural emollient-fixative in creams, serums, body oils, solid perfumes and bath products, always pre-dissolved in the oil phase.
Cosmetic Applications
| Product type | Suggested use |
|---|---|
| Face / body creams | 0.05–0.5% in the oil phase |
| Serums & facial oils | 0.1–1% blended in carrier oils |
| Solid perfume | 1–5% in wax-oil base |
| Bath & massage oils | 0.5–2% in carrier oil |
| Soap (CP/MP) | 0.5–1.5%, add at trace |
- Pre-dissolve the absolute in the oil phase; its waxy fraction can cloud cold-process formulations if added neat
- Warm gently (30–40°C) before dosing for accurate weighing
- Label per your market's allergen rules (geraniol, citronellol, linalool, farnesol, etc.)
- The absolute can color light formulations amber — verify color impact in white creams
