What does the wild rose absolute smell like?
The aroma is an intense honeyed rose floral with a green tea-like undertone, wild berry fruitiness and a deep woody base — fuller and more 'jammy' than a distilled rose oil because the absolute retains wax-soluble odorants.
Aroma Profile
| Note | Description |
|---|---|
| Top | Fresh green, slightly tea-like lift |
| Heart | Rich honeyed rose, wild berry jam nuance |
| Base | Deep woody, faintly balsamic dry-down |
| Character | Warm, opulent, natural and long-lasting |
- The honey facet comes from high phenylethyl alcohol and rose alcohols (citronellol, geraniol, nerol)
- Compared with distilled rose oil the absolute is deeper, more tenacious and less sharp in the top note
- It performs well as a fixative in compositions because of its heavy molecular-weight fraction
Ask for an evaluation strip / smelling sample to assess the scent profile in your base.
