What is the production lead time for peppermint oil orders?
Lead time depends on order size, grade and whether stock is available. Standard-grade peppermint oil is usually available from buffer stock within days; large contract volumes are scheduled around the harvest calendar because distillation runs in the harvest window.
Typical Lead Times
| Order type | Lead time |
|---|---|
| Sample order (≤1 kg) | 1-3 days from confirmation |
| Stock standard grade (up to 1 t) | 3-7 days |
| Production run (1-5 t) | 7-15 days (outside harvest) |
| New-crop contract (20 t+) | Scheduled per contract; depends on the harvest window |
| Certified grade (halal/kosher/organic) | +7-14 days for certification |
| Custom packing / OEM label | +7-10 days |
What Drives the Calendar
- Fresh herb is distilled within hours to days of harvest — new-crop production is set by the regional harvest window (US Jul-Aug, India two cuts, China May-Oct)
- QC release: GC-MS, physical-chemical testing and documentation add 2-3 days
- Ocean freight lead time is quoted separately from production time

- Place standing orders with forecast volume so we hold allocation for you
- Confirm documents (COA format, certificates, destination language) at ordering
