What natural and purity claims can we make for this patchouli oil?

Because this oil is a genuine, single-source steam distillate with no blending or spiking, the following claims are defensible with our documentation:

Claims We Can Support

ClaimSupporting evidence
100% naturalSteam distillation of dried fermented P. cablin leaves; no synthetic components
Undiluted / no carrierCOA density, RI, rotation match pure-oil ranges; GC-MS shows no diluent peak
No synthetic patchoulol addedPatchoulol comes only from distillation; natural optical rotation −35° to −60°
Vegan and cruelty-freePlant origin, no animal-derived processing aids
Non-GMOTraditional crop varieties; no GMO use at source
No preservatives neededWater-insoluble pure oil phase; no preservative added
Single botanical (Pogostemon cablin)Raw-material declaration and botanical authentication

Claims to Avoid

  • Therapeutic or disease-treatment claims (e.g. cure, treatment) — prohibited in most markets without drug registration
  • Certified organic unless the lot carries an organic certificate — we can supply organic-grade lots on request, but the standard grade is not labelled organic
  • Food grade in the EU/US without confirming FEMA/EU flavouring compliance — our food-compliant release is documented per order (FEMA 2838 / GB 2760 N007)

How We Document Purity

  • Every batch has a COA listing density, refractive index, optical rotation, acid/ester value, patchoulol content and GC-MS profile
  • IfRA compliance certificate, allergen statement and SDS are provided with each shipment
  • Third-party testing (GC-MS fingerprint, heavy metals, pesticides) can be arranged against your destination market requirements
