How is this Nardostachys spikenard oil used in aromatherapy and TCM wellness?

In TCM aromatherapy, spikenard is the classic oil for 理气止痛 (regulating qi and relieving pain), 开郁醒脾 (opening depressive stagnation and strengthening the spleen) and 镇静安神 (calming the mind and tranquilizing) — the plant is a top-tier 安神 (tranquilizer) herb in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Modern aromatherapy uses it in diffusers and meditative blends for deep relaxation, grounding and stress relief; 2–4 drops in a diffuser or 1–2 drops diluted in 5 ml carrier oil for an evening massage. Caution: low doses are effective; do not exceed, and avoid in pregnancy, hypotension-prone individuals and young children.
