FAQ Header

In which solvents and bases can this oil be dissolved for formulation?

The oil is fully soluble in ethanol and fixed oils and insoluble in water — the standard solubility behavior of a steam-distilled floral essential oil, which dictates how it is dosed in perfume, cosmetic and candle formulations.

Solubility Profile

Solvent / BaseSolubilityTypical Use
EthanolFully solubleFine fragrance, sprays, eau de toilette
Fixed oils (jojoba, sweet almond, fractionated coconut)Fully solubleMassage blends, facial serums, body oils
WaterInsolubleRequires solubilizer (e.g. polysorbate 20/80) for waters
Wax (candle)Blend with fragrance oil / IPMScented candles, wax melts
In alcohol-based perfumery, dissolve the oil in the ethanol phase before dilution; for aqueous products such as toners, pre-dissolve with a non-ionic solubilizer at a 1:3 to 1:4 oil-to-solubilizer ratio to obtain a clear solution.

Send your base formula and we will advise the correct incorporation and dosage for clear, stable finished products.
