How is honeysuckle essential oil extracted, and does the method affect quality?

Our standard product is produced by low-temperature steam distillation of fresh Lonicera japonica flower buds, which preserves the delicate green-honeyed floral character that makes this oil valuable for fine perfumery.

Extraction Overview

MethodYieldPosition
Steam distillation (standard)0.032–0.047% (field average)Our standard line — pure, natural, no solvent residue
Supercritical CO₂ + molecular distillation (SFE-MD)Up to 0.56%Available on request for higher-concentrate grades
Honeysuckle oil is heat-sensitive and light-sensitive: content can decay over 65% in 48 hours at ambient temperature without protection. Our process therefore couples distillation with cold molecular purification (30–40°C, 5–10 Pa), nitrogen-flushed filling (≥99.9% N₂) and amber-glass sealing so the oil reaches you stable and oxidation-free.

The extraction method directly dictates aroma fidelity and stability — steam distillation delivers the authentic herbal-floral profile; SFE-MD gives higher yield at premium cost. State your target application and we will recommend the right grade.
