What does honeysuckle essential oil look like, and can the color vary between batches?

The oil is a clear to light-yellow liquid that ranges from pale yellow to light amber, typical of steam-distilled Lonicera japonica flower-bud oil.

Minor color shifts are normal and expected: the harvest season, bud maturity and the natural year-to-year variation of the raw flower all influence the exact shade. We lock each batch against an in-house color standard and record the visual result on the Certificate of Analysis, so any shift stays within a documented, acceptable range and never affects aroma performance.

If your label requires a strictly defined color tolerance, we can supply reference standards and adjust blending before shipment.
