Is the supply of this geranium oil seasonal?
Yes — geranium oil production follows the harvest, but the supply to you does not have to. The main harvest runs in spring-summer (April-July in Yunnan/Sichuan), and because the oil is stored in bulk tanks between seasons, we can ship year-round at a stable specification.
Seasonality Facts
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Main harvest window | April-July (spring-summer) in the main growing areas |
| Secondary cuts | Some plantations allow a second lighter cut in early autumn |
| Fresh-material use | Only fresh leaves + flowering tops are distilled — no dried-stock shortcuts |
| Availability window | Year-round from bulk storage; freshest lots right after the harvest |
| Price seasonality | Mild pressure around harvest; stable pricing on contract |
| Fresh-character batches | Reserve possible — if your formula was built on early-harvest oil, we can hold a lot for you |
- If your production calendar peaks between November and March, the bulk-tank stock covers you without any quality difference
- For "new crop" claims on packaging, order within 2-3 months after the harvest and specify the crop year on your PO
- Contract buyers can fix a blended-year price that removes seasonality from their costing
- We issue crop-year statements on request for labelling and traceability
