What is the INCI name and how should this geranium oil be labelled?

The INCI name is Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil. That is the name you must use on cosmetic ingredient lists in the EU, USA, and most markets that follow INCI. For perfumery, the same raw material is usually declared as Geranium Oil (or Parfum, if the full formula is declared as a fragrance).

  • On cosmetic labels, list the INCI name in the ingredient declaration in descending order of concentration
  • EU 2023/1545 adds allergen declarations: geranium oil itself plus citronellol, geraniol, linalool, and benzyl alcohol when above threshold — these appear in the separate allergen section of the label
  • For soap, perfume, and home-fragrance labels, most markets accept "Geranium Oil" or the INCI name; keep one consistent name across documents
  • If you re-label for resale, keep the batch number, production date, and origin statement on the secondary label for traceability
