Can gardenia oil be used in candles and home fragrance, and at what load?

Yes — gardenia works excellently in candles, wax melts, reed diffusers and room sprays, where its rich floral throw fills a room; typical fragrance load is 3–10%.

Home Fragrance Guidance

ProductFragrance LoadNotes
Soy/paraffin candle3–6%Good hot and cold throw; no added dye needed
Candle (high load)6–10%Test wick sizing; avoid frosting
Wax melts5–8%Strong room-filling release
Reed diffuser5–15%Use DPG/IPM base for wicking
Room spray1–3%Solubilize in alcohol
Gardenia's creamy-floral character survives candle heat well (stable lactonic components), and its light color keeps wax pale for clean aesthetics. For blends, combine with ylang-ylang or sandalwood for richer depth.

We can supply candle-test reports from our partner lab and a wax-compatible blending guide with your bulk order.
