How are heavy metals and pesticide residues controlled in this eucalyptus leaf oil?

Every batch is screened for heavy metals, and pesticide residues are controlled through plantation management and spot testing. Limits follow the strictest market requirement declared for the batch (food, cosmetic or pharmacopoeia).

Control Program

ItemMethodTypical limit (food/cosmetic grade)
Arsenic (As)ICP-MS / AAS≤ 2 mg/kg
Lead (Pb)ICP-MS / AAS≤ 1 mg/kg (EU cosmetic ≤ 10 ppm)
Mercury (Hg)ICP-MS≤ 0.1 mg/kg
Cadmium (Cd)ICP-MS≤ 1 mg/kg
Pesticide residuesGC-MS/MS multi-residueBelow national/EU MRLs; typically none detected
MicrobiologicalTPC, yeast & mould, pathogensWithin limits (e.g., TPC ≤ 100 CFU/g)
  • Eucalyptus plantations are managed with minimal pesticide input; fresh-leaf harvesting windows are controlled
  • Heavy metal analysis is performed on each food-grade batch and stated on the COA
  • Third-party testing (SGS, Intertek, Eurofins) can be arranged for the destination market, including EU 396/2005 MRL compliance
  • If your target market needs a specific limit or an extra analyte, tell us in advance — we add it to the batch specification
  • Any batch that fails a screening is rejected, never blended away to hide the result
