What extraction method is used to produce the Aglaia odorata oil?
The oil is produced by classic steam distillation of fresh aglaia flower panicles — the reference method defined by the Chinese industry standard QB/T 1800-2011 (Oil of Aglaia odorata flower).
Process
- Fresh flower panicles are sorted to remove stems and impurities, then loaded into the distillation still within 24 hours of harvest
- Saturated steam passes through the flower bed and carries the volatile oil out
- The vapor is condensed in a tube condenser and the oil is separated automatically by density in the oil-water separator
- The finished oil is filtered, checked, and packed in sealed aluminum or amber glass containers
Yield & Purity
Natural yield is only 0.08–0.12% — roughly 1 kg of oil from 1,000 kg of fresh flowers — which explains why genuine aglaia oil commands a premium price. No dilution, no blending, no additives: what you receive is the undiluted distillate. A supercritical CO₂ extraction option is available on request for even higher olfactory fidelity.
