Without preservatives, how is microbial safety controlled?

Microbial safety is ensured by hygienic processing, fresh raw material and per-batch microbial limit testing — the natural pH of 4.0–6.0 itself suppresses most spoilage organisms.

Control PointMeasure
Raw materialFresh blossoms distilled within hours of picking
ProcessHygienic filling, filtered condensate, sealed containers
TestingMicrobial limit test on every batch
StorageSealed, cool and dark; avoid repeated opening
A water-based, preservative-free product relies on good manufacturing practice and cold-chain-consistent logistics rather than chemical protection. For finished cosmetics, the preservation system of the final formula should still be validated as part of your product development.

We can share the latest microbial test report and advise on handling guidelines for your filling line. Send your finished-product format and we will recommend appropriate controls.
